Back from One Light and SPE

I am home! I feel like I haven’t been home in a while. I returned from the OneLight Workshop in Atlanta on Thursday, then was out the door again on Friday for the Southeast Society for Photographic Education Conference in Asheboro. Just in case you are wondering if a OneLight workshop is worth it…it is! My main goal in going was to learn how to control specific lighting situations. I want to get better at walking into a situation and visualizing the image I want before I even start. This means being able to manipulate light that is available and light that isn’t available. Zach Arias presented a well-organized and well-presented workshop. It is what I hoped for and would highly recommend it! The first few shots below are images from the workshop. We went out and shot in different locations with different lighting situations. When I got home, I was so excited, I had to try it right away. So, I dragged my husband Shannon away from working on the deck to go to the back of the neighborhood and play with different lighting setups. Would you believe that both shots of Shannon are taken within minutes of each other? Great fun! And thanks to Shannon (and Jacques) for taking the time out to stand in front of the camera. Jacques was actually just trying to eat bugs.

Tuesday Tip: Vote

Hey Everyone! I am getting ready for my trip, so in all honesty, I have been way too busy to get a Tuesday Tip together. The best tip I have for you today is to get out there and vote if you haven’t already. Hopefully, I will be back next week with a new tip!!

Off to Atlanta for a One Light Workshop

Busy times, bus times.  As of tomorrow, I am off for a few days, to a One Light Workshop in Atlanta. I am super excited. I will have to share thoughts about it when I get back. On Friday, I will hit the road with my husband Shannon, to go to Asheboro NC for an SPE (Society for Photographic Education) Conference. So, I may be MIA for a few days, but will definitely share fun stuff when I get back.
