Beth…and Maddy too!
October 28, 2009
My friend Beth got together with me last week so I could have some camera play time. Beth is so multi-talented. She can sing, act, and is a super Mary Kay consultant…and that’s on top of being a great Mom. I was happy to hear Maddy was coming along. Maddy kept us laughing the whole time. They were so much fun to be around and to photograph. Here are some pics from our photo time.

Caitlin is 1!
September 11, 2009
I went down to Hampstead a few weeks ago to photograph Caitlin for her first birthday. We had a quick photo session before her big party. For those of you who don’t know, as of May, I made the decision not to book family sessions, at least for right now. That doesn’t mean I won’t ever pick it up again. But, for now, I made that decision to give me some time to pursue a few other photographic endeavors. So, right now, I have been photographing those who I had obligations to prior to May 08. It is little clients like Caitlin that made that decision very very difficult. I mean…how cute is she and have you seen her brother Cole? Caitlin has the perfect little cheeks and the such pretty eyes. Anywho…I thought I would share some of Caitlin on her big day:
A New Friend
August 28, 2009
My friends from college, Earl and Danielle, just had a baby boy. You might remember them from an earlier post I did for the Ethiopia in Wilmington a few months back. I thought I would share a quick pic of this little guy. His name is Jamey and he sure is cute. He really liked his little home in the basket I set up for him. Sometimes you never know what the little ones will like. But, he seemed quite content.

Will Work for Disney Dollars
July 8, 2009
I think the last post I did of Bree and Ty I said that Bree would allow me to photograph her for a sucker. Well, we upped it. Inflation has set in and now she is working for dollars to go to her Disney fund. So, Jill (my sister), and her two kiddos came up last weekend. It was time for Ty’s 6 month pictures and we also took in some really great fireworks over the 4th of July and even made a US flag cake. Bree ate the blue berries that were on the cake and not the cake. I really wish I would think like that. Well, we had a good time. Here are a few pics…I’m sure I will show more from our time together in the future:

Here is Bree…bandages and all. One thing I love about Bree is all her faces..good faces, bad faces, funny faces…

The Good Life:

Hanging out with the Hodges
July 1, 2009
Meet the Hodges. I met them at Wrightsville Beach at their favorite beach hangout for some picture time. What a great family. It seems like I say that a lot about my families. I am fortunate to work with such great people. I had a great time rolling around in the sand, so much that I think I was sandier than the kids. Once again, I am jealous of the blue eyes.

The Crooms
July 1, 2009
I met up with the Croom family in Wilmington a few weeks ago. It was a hot one, but we had a great time. These kids are just precious. These two fellas just loved the camera and I was loving that! They were such a great family to work with. I just met them, but they were so nice I felt like I had known them longer. So, thanks guys for making it so enjoyable!

Connor
June 23, 2009
Oh my, I love this little guy. His name is Connor and I don’t need to tell you how cute he is. He was such a delight to photograph. I am glad I brought my raggedy chair out to the session because Connor seemed to enjoy it quite a bit. This old chair has been in my family for quite some time and has had many occupants and holds many memories. So, I hope it will help Connor and his family have some great memories too.

My Mother-In-Law told me that it looks like it is time to give the old chair a new seat. I think she’s right!

Ethiopia in Wilmington, Part 3
June 15, 2009
For Day 3 I met up with two great families. We had some crazy weather that day, so luckily we were able to get some shooting accomplished. I did have to cancel for a few others from the weekend or because of other circumstances, so those will be coming up soon. I want to thank these guys for participating in the shoot. Again, if you want to check on the McCumbee’s adoption progress, just visit their blog.
Meet Kobbe and her Mom Colleen, what a beautiful pair:

Meet the Mosher Family…Todd, Stephanie, Braxton, and Brogan. These little guys are handsome and did such a great job. One thing I have noticed about family portraits that I love, specifically of children, is facial expression. I love genuine facial expressions, even if they are not just your straight up “cheese” for the camera. I love funny faces and even sad faces sometimes. These guys were so expressive…so of course, my favorites were the ones with the funny faces.

They were showing me a bug:

Ethiopia to Wilmington: DAY 2
June 9, 2009
I photographed 8 families on Day 2 for the Ethiopia to Wilmington benefit weekend. Wow, what a long and productive day. I photographed so many cute kids I don’t even know where to start. This is going to be the biggest picture post ever. It’s a long one, so just keep in mind this is 8 shoots in one post. It was very difficult to choose which ones to post. Obviously, Day 2 was at the beach. The weather was great. I got a rockin farmer’s tan! I haven’t been able to wear sleeveless shirts since; it’s kinda funny. I want to thank all the families and couples for participating! Here we go:
Ladies first….Meet the Byers!!!

Meet the Byrds. I have known Holly for what seems like forever. She and my sister Jill have been friends for a long time, which I think is awesome. The coolest thing is that Cole and my niece Bree are really good friends too!!

Muscle Beach!!!!

Meet the Krowls:

This is Earl and Danielle Reese and they are expecting little Jamey very soon. I have been friends with Earl and Danielle since undergraduate school at Barton College. Let me tell you, Earl is one of a kind. They make me laugh so much. I knew it would be a fun and entertaining session with these guys. I am looking forward to seeing Jamey very soon!! I know Danielle must be the envy of pregnant ladies everywhere…I think she needs to be a maternity model.

Meet the Snyder Family. Yes, the Snyder Family…Snyders Rock!!! (My maiden name is Snyder….even spelled the same way!)

I don’t know what it is, but I was digging the black and white for this family!

Meet the Thomas Fam!

Making the beach cleaner, one piece of trash at a time!

Meet Allison and Michael. They are getting married!!!
