FAQ

Q. When do I need to book you for wedding  photography?

A. The best time to book your wedding is as soon as you finalize the date for you wedding.

Q. What is required to book a wedding?

A. It is beneficial that every bride and groom meet with me to go over any questions that they might have and review what they will be receiving with their package. I do require a 40% deposit fee to reserve the wedding date.

Q. How much are your wedding packages?

A. For a complete list of wedding packages please visit jsmixonphoto.com

Q. Do you travel?

A. Yes, I am available for local and destination weddings. There are travel fees for locations 60 miles outside of Greenville, NC.

Q. How many images do you take each wedding?

A. It would be very difficult to give an exact number. It most often depends on the length and the activities of the weddings. I do assure you I take the right amount of pictures to tell the complete story of the day!

Q. Do you give the disk of images (digital negatives) with your wedding photography?

A. The disk of image is only included in the largest wedding package. I do offer it as an “add-on” to wedding packages. If you choose to purchase the disk of images, you will receive the high resolution files with an image rights release form authorizing you to print the image as well as making copies of the disk for friends and family.

Q. How do we order prints?

A. I offer online viewing for every event and portrait session I do. Included in the proof site are options to order a variety of sizes and finishes (metallic and mounting), as well as albums.

Q. What kind of equipment do you use?

A. I use mostly digital cameras, but do on occasion use film for certain purposes. I use two Canon 5D cameras and have a wide variety of lens. I always have backup equipment, in fact, my backup cameras have backup cameras. You can never be too prepared!

Q. Do you offer both black and white and color images?

A. Yes. When shooting digital, I always expose in color so I will have to option of a color image, black and white, or toned image. There is an option through the proof site to order toned (black and white/sepia,etc) images from the color prints.

Q. What is your photographic style?

A. I was trained as a fine art photography and that is where my true love for photography lies. I see wedding and lifestyle photography as just another extension of art. My style is a bit of a collection of photojournalism to fine art photography. I do find that each wedding and lifestyle session has a tendency to take on a life of its own depending on the subjects being photographed.

Q. Do you edit your images?

A. Yes. All my digital images are color and temperature corrected. Adjustments are made for exposure, contrast, and saturation as well.

Q. Do you use actions

A. Yes. I use actions I have created myself to further enhance the mood or feeling of the image.
