PHOTOGRAPHY COURSES: Teaching full-time at Lenoir Community College allows me to share the photography process with others, which is something I enjoy so much. I teach a range of classes from the traditional darkroom to the digital darkroom. If you are interested in photography in the hope of making photography your profession or even just a hobby these courses would be great for you. Check out the LCC link above for more information on classes offered throughout the semester.
I am also planning on doing photography workshops in the future. These workshops will designed to cover the fundamentals of photography. If you are interested in hosting one in your area, email me at jsmixon06@aol.com. More information to come!
ONE on ONES: If you are interested in educating yourself on a particular topic or area of study, but just don’t have the time for a semester long class you could consider the one on one sessions. Sessions are individualized to suit your needs. Topics of instruction/discussion can range from camera use, Photoshop Techniques, such as image enhancement, how to set up and use your own actions, batch actions, and so much more. Sessions are $40 for the first hour and $30 each successive hour.
TEXTURE and BORDER DISK/TUTORIAL:
Textures and Borders are something that I incorporate into both my fine art work as well as my portrait and event photography. I have put together a collection of my favorite handcrafted textures and borders (high resolution), video tutorials on how to use them, and a few bonus Photoshop brushes all together on a disk for you to use for your personal creative use. Each texture and border was handcrafted for the purpose of making art. By mixing the elements of texture and line you will discover techniques to bring fine art elements to your own imagery. The video tutorials introduce techniques to get you started, but I encourage you to experiment with your own digital manipulation techniques…there are so many possibilities! Here are the specifics of what is on the disk: 31 different textures (I know, why couldn’t I have made it an even 30), 11 borders, 8 bonus Photoshop brushes and 4 video tutorials to get you going. Fun Stuff! Be sure to email me if you have any questions about the disk. Click on the “Textures and Borders” Page for more information or to purchase the disk.

Julie,
Thisis the first time I have looked at your website, and I find your work amazing. Before I go on I should tell you who I am, Butch’s mom (in
case you didnt put the connection together.) I have an idea rolling around in my head that I wonder if you can put it together. The idea is lengthy so I will explain it to Becky and perhaps she can explain it to you. Do you think I have gotten you a little curious? I hope to talk to soon.
Sincerely,
Mary ann
